This was an interesting concept。 A body switching story with some antics as the characters try to keep it a secret。 Unfortunately, none of the characters were all that memorable to me。 However, I did like that the MC tried to help a girl take on some bullies。

This was。。。 a new experience for me。 The only other manga I've read was a series about ghouls who eat people, and this is not anything like that。In this volume, we meet a high school boy named Yamada who has the power to switch bodies with other people by kissing them。 He discovers this power when he falls down the stairs with a girl classmate and they accidentally kiss in the process。 Now he's stuck in a girl's body! I expected real witches and so far not a single one。 The body switching is hilarious though。 This series is 28 volumes and i honestly have no idea how it's going to stretch that long, but I'm going to keep reading these until I get bored。 I expected real witches and so far not a single one。 The body switching is hilarious though。 This series is 28 volumes and i honestly have no idea how it's going to stretch that long, but I'm going to keep reading these until I get bored。 。。。more

Sometimes we have unfortunate fanservice through the boys’ eyes but it’s not that bad。 The characters all have their own characteristics that the mangaka tries to keep even when they have switched bodies, this is pretty fun。 。。。more

A pretty funny story of two very different high school students, a slacker boy and straight A girl, having the ability to switch into each other’s bodies。 Plenty of awkward humor, chemistry and promise for how this story will evolve。 B+ (83%/Very Good)

Completely misleading title, three are no witches or magic in this at all。 Instead you follow a guy that can switch bodies with people, by kissing them。 Other than that it’s a slice of life school drama。 Not really much I can say about this, there is a possible romance hinted at and some high school woes but it’s a pretty standard manga。 t

After figuring out the workings behind this new and amazing ability, Ryu and Urara take full advantage of the situation to improve their lives。 But with such an oddly amazing power, just how long will Ryu and Urara be able to keep their secret under wraps?Genres: Fantasy, Supernatural/Paranormal, Comedy, & Romance Book Style: Manga (Japanese Comics - Read Right to Left) I decided to read Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches Story & Art By Miki Yoshikawa Vol。1 because it was just on my shelf for a while collecting dust (I forgot I bot a while back) and I wanted to give the series a chance to see if I like it。 Once I started reading I was curious of what was going to happen between Yamada and Shiraishi by the power of switching bodies! This story follows a boy named Ryu Yamada who is kind of the schools "problem child" which means he isn't doing well in his classes and a girl named Urara Shiraishi who is an A+ student which means she's really smart in her classes but then after running into each other in school on a staircase and falling down they both somehow switched bodies。 So now Yamada is in Shiraishi's body trying to be a girl and Shiraishi is in Yamada's body trying to be a boy and the whole school thinks there is something off about both students because they aren't acting like themselves。 Yamada finds out while in Shiraishi's body that she's an straight A student, doesn't have any friends, and she gets bullied by other students then Shiraishi finds out in Yamada's body that he's failing his classes, not a lot of people like him for being a troublemaker, and that he's very strong。 Once school ended that day Yamada and Shiraishi meet up to try to get back to normal but falling down the staircase again isn't it until Shiraishi tell him they kissed when they fell together so they kissed again then turn back to normal and that's when they discover the power of body switching。 The next couple of days they decide to keep changing bodies to help each other out by bring up Yamada's grades and helping Shiraishi have more friends/being more social with people。 Later the Student Council see them both improving while in school but Toranosuke Miyamura a member of the Student Council thinks something is very off he deices to investigate himself then he finds out Yamada & Shiraishi big secret and reopens the Supernatural Club to do research about the body switching secret and keep it between the tree of them only。 I love the idea of body switching being a magical power that possibly witches use and how comical each time switching can be between Yamada and Shiraishi, it's so funny! My favorite parts are when Shiraishi is in Yamada's classes as Yamada acting like a straight A student when everyone knows he always fails his classes; that must of fooled everyone for thinking he can't do anything and Yamada when he's in Shiraishi gym class as Shiraishi and finds out there is a creeper taking pictures of the girls changing then get his/her picture taken by the weirdo's so he finds the culprits and beats them/ties them up and bring to a teacher, it must make Shiraishi look like an badass! Also like how the characters in this story can be very relatable and the character development is very good。 I love the art style it's very clear and clean but you have to really look at the face expressions/how they walk to see when they switched which it very cool! I really like this story and I can't wait to read Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches Story & Art By Miki Yoshikawa Vol。2 to see what's going to happen next! I would recommend this book to people who want a genderbending/supernatural read or people who want something funny to read! 。。。more

Ahaha this is actually pretty good (we watched the hell out of the drama and tbh I assumed the manga would be all shonen panty shots。 Which it kind of is, but also Yamada is my kind of priceless idiot and Yoshikawa draws fantastic expressions。)

Miki Yoshikawa’s “Yamada-Kun And The Seven Witches,” follows the titular character, Yamada-kun, who is a problem child at his school。 Most, if not all, the students there feared him, but one day, he discovers he has a supernatural power。 This manga follows the events that unfold after he discovers said power。 Now, what power is that?Well, Yamada has the ability to trade places with one of his classmates, honor student, Urara Shiraishi, after exchanging a kiss with her。 Yep, that seems abut right Miki Yoshikawa’s “Yamada-Kun And The Seven Witches,” follows the titular character, Yamada-kun, who is a problem child at his school。 Most, if not all, the students there feared him, but one day, he discovers he has a supernatural power。 This manga follows the events that unfold after he discovers said power。 Now, what power is that?Well, Yamada has the ability to trade places with one of his classmates, honor student, Urara Shiraishi, after exchanging a kiss with her。 Yep, that seems abut right。 Got to love manga。 Anyway, you’d think what followed the body switch would be all fanservice-y groping and ecchi (sexual) comedy, and there is a bit, but that’s not all。Yoshikawa-sensei’s world isn’t all fanservice and silly comedy。 Surprisingly, she tackled things like bullying and harassment during the body switch。 I can’t say I was expecting that。 We see how the two of them handle problems for the other, and the fallout from said events。 Granted, there are a bit of childish antics happening in the first volume when another student finds out about Yamada and Urara’s power, but since I already saw the anime, I knew it was coming。 That said, I heard that a lot of people didn’t like the introduction of the student council member who found out about the switching power。 I disagree。Is he my favorite character? No, but that’s mainly due to me not really being a fan of pervy characters。 And yes, most adolescents are pervs in some form or fashion, but to rifle through a girl’s underwear and lay in her bed without permission is a too much。 Even if it’s only done for comedic effect。 I’m not one for cheap comedy like that。 Yoshikawa-sensei has created an interesting setting though, and I’m looking forward to continuing this series。 I enjoyed the anime, and it’s what led me to buy the first five volumes of this manga。 I like the characters, and I’d like to see what else happens down the road with Yamada-kun。If you want to experience some mostly wholesome comedy and possible romance subplots, give Yamada-kun And The Seven Witches a read。 。。。more

I love Yamada and Urara and their growing dynamic with each other, but the other characters are pretty annoying。 I don’t know how long the switching-bodies shenanigans can continue to be fresh, though I do enjoy the focus on gender politics as well。 Even so, I don’t think I will continue collecting the series; I hope my library has the other volumes so I can read them if I choose。
